1. Battery Installation and Inspection
Ensure that the battery is correctly installed in the fish finder. For models that use dry-cell batteries, the battery must be inserted into the compartment on the display unit, and the battery cover should be carefully and securely attached. Check that the battery cover is firmly sealed—if not, water may seep in and cause device malfunction, potentially affecting normal operation.

2. Battery Power and Its Impact on Usage
Make sure the battery is sufficiently charged. If an error message appears while reading echo data, it likely indicates that the battery needs replacement. Low battery power can affect the accuracy of depth readings, leading to inaccurate or unstable data. It may also reduce the effective working range of the device.

3. Precautions for Using the Wireless Sonar
Avoid dragging the wireless sonar unit over hard surfaces or rocks. Doing so may damage the echo component, leading to malfunction or failure.

4. Sensor Cleaning and Maintenance
After using the sensor in saltwater, promptly rinse the surface and metal contacts of the wireless sonar unit with fresh water. This prevents damage or corrosion caused by saltwater. To ensure the wireless sensor functions properly, it's essential to follow these cleaning and maintenance steps thoroughly.

5. Handling Water Ingress
If water accidentally enters the wireless sonar sensor, the first step is to remove the battery immediately and drain any water from the casing. Then, thoroughly wipe the exterior of the unit with a tissue or dry cloth. The device should only be reused once all moisture has been completely removed and it is fully dry.
